Just outside of Portland is the city of Hillsboro, locally known for being the home of the Roloff's (of TLC's Little People Big World fame). Something to get excited about? ...not so much. But what you
should get excited about is a little taco truck called Ely's!
We've read their praises on local food blogs and thought we'd check it out. Holy s*#t these taco's were incredible! Soft corn tortillas filled with carnitas or carne asada, onions and cilantro. That's it, plain and simple. Sure, there was hot sauce, salsa and avocado but I'll take mine straight up. A native Californian, it reminded me of day trips to Ensenada, eating from the taco stands. All for about the same price...$1 a taco!!!! The only thing missing is a cold cerveza.
Mike and I sit in the car finishing out taco's marveling at our latest find. The bonus? It's on my way home!
